The first night sleeping in an unfamiliar place can make you restless. Any disturbance can wake you up and ruin your sleep. Additionally, travel fatigue can make you tired and open you up to potential illnesses.

Even when traveling, try to stick to a sleep routine. Know when you want to return to your hotel or other accommodation to wind down for the night. Turn off your devices before bed so you do not risk staying awake on your phone. Bring with you small items that may remind you of home. For instance, some people sleep better when they have a blanket from home.

Outside of the EU, you may still be able to receive reduced or free healthcare if the country has arrangements with the UK. If you need help arranging medical treatment, contact the local British Embassy.
Make sure you have your medical records with you at all times. Digitize your medical records before you leave and save them in the cloud so you can access them. Scan the documents as PDFs to keep on your hard drive or the cloud. You can combine multiple pages into one PDF for better organization when you scan multiple pages into a PDF.
